Charlie, love, O'Malley wants to know when we were going to take our vacation hours this year. We've both got an embarrassingly large amount a fair few saved up. It's not our fault we liked being married to our jobs. He really wants for us to take some because he's decided that he's only willing to pay out a month's worth of time and no more, so we actually have to start taking our days off. Maybe...we could go on vacation this year with Chloe? Take her somewhere nice. I'm only asking over this because I'm at the office's right now.
Speaking of the monkey, she's figured out how to play Charlie and I against each other. If she asks Charlie for something, and he says no, she'll come ask me and see if I'll say yes or vice versa. It's been going on for some time now apparently and I couldn't understand why Charlie and I kept getting in to silly little quibbles over stuff Chloe was doing, until we realized the little one was the reason why we kept arguing. So from now on, when I'm asked something by her, I ask her if she's asked her father...most of the time she's not quite quick enough to realize that we've got a plan of action against her now in this respect and will say yes. And I'll then ask what he said. The first time this happened, I think she was confused. She really wasn't sure what to make of it.
Children, so precious sometimes, so devious other times. |

So I took Chloe to the doctor's today, just for a check up, and she's three feet two inches and weighs thirty nine pounds. She's perfectly normal in that respect, which is always a good sign. So being around a bunch of dragons and living out in the forest, basically, is doing her no worse or better then the rest of the children in the family that are her age. It's a little immature of me but I want to kind of bring that up at the next family gathering for all of those who criticize mine and Charlie's decision to let her grow up here, rather then then the city. The doctor said shes also quite smart. She knows a lot about animals and is speaking a lot more clearly and precisely then other children her age. she also formulates long and correct sentences with few word confusions. She's no prodigy, but she's doing very well for her age.
She had such a blast when Vee came to visit too, she really does like spending time with her older cousin. Makes me wish there were more kids on the reserve for her to play with. I think Charlie and I will have to come around and visit Bill and Fleur a little more so she can see her cousins, and it's always nice to visit the family.
Some of the dragons are starting to come out of burmation, which is always an exciting time. They're usually very hungry because they want to rebuild up their body fat stores, which means we're going to have to start watching the stock of food we're keeping for them. I know we're getting some shipments in in a few weeks but if too many wake up too soon, we may have a problem. I blame this wonky weather we've been having. Putting the poor beasts in to a state of confusion.
And I have
...That would be our daughter, Charlie, wondering where daddy is and asking if you'll give her piggy backs and smoozles when you come in from being outside.
...I suppose I should go now put my inky child in to the bath before she makes my nice clean floor any more inked then it already is now. |

Only a parent would indulge her daughter in almost a hour of hide and go seek...in a two bedroom cottage...you tend to run out of hiding places fast. Twenty minutes of 'hordie' which means horsey...meaning I crawl around on the ground while she holds on to my 'mane' and kicks my sides with her little booted feet. Then listening to her sing her one, two, three's which come out more like oned...twof...fees...for about fifty times. And then finally having her eat a Cheeto that she found under the couch (Charlie, I'm assuming that'd have been yours...) and fighting with her to dig it out of her mouth only to have her smear the rest of it on my cheek by accident while she was struggling and bite my forefinger.
Only a parent.
I'm exhausted. I miss sex with my Charlie. Hell I miss not falling asleep before he even gets in to bed from brushing his teeth. |

I have an serious crick in my neck.
Children's beds are not supposed to hold a full size adult plus a child. At least Chloe wanted to snuggle with me. Then again she was just happy I was annoyed at Charlie rather then her. Children really do pick up on such things.
Today's going to be an awfully long day at work. |
